This homemade carrot cake recipe bakes up incredibly moist and soft. Don’t even think about getting a tiny slice of this cake because you WILL be back for more. I get asked for this recipe often so if you plan on taking this to an event have the recipe handy. I use finely grated baby carrots in this recipe simply because I love the sweetness and tenderness of baby carrots. You can use regular carrots as well. Question by Niki: What is a similar recipe for the Lemon Crème Cake sold in the Wal-Mart bakery section?
I have seen this cake sold in the bakery section at Wal-Marts nationwide for years. It is always baked in a tube pan and packaged upside down in a plastic tube pan. It’s about 3-4″ tall and the glaze/frosting has a grainy sugary texture. It is not flipped upside down and then glazed like most Bundt/tube pan cakes. It is frosted just as it came out of the oven. It has a deep yellow color which I suspect comes from food coloring. I have tried with other lemon cake recipes but they never come out with the right lemony taste and texture. This cake is thick and crumbly like a pound cake (it’s nothing like an angel food cake), but it is also light. It’s very sweet and moist and literally melts in your mouth like sugar. I have searched the Internet upside down for this recipe with zero results. Help!!!

Question by Hope: Does anyone have a White cake recipe that taste like a grocery store bakery?
I am planning on making cupcakes/cake for my sons birthday party and I wanted them to taste like they came from a grocery store bakery. Does anyone have a good white cake recipe like this? I’m not planning on selling cakes, but would just love to have a recipe like this for my families birthdays. Thanks so much!

Just use a white cake mix; they will taste exactly like store bought.

I’m second wife. I own my own successful business. Anytime there is a "bring baked goods" type situation (we’re in the country – lots more of that out here – anyway, she’ll ask me just as soon as I walk in, Is that from scratch? And she is still very good friends with the ex (their children are both grown.) So when she sees Judy, she’ll say, And Judy brought cakes made from scratch…. The best thing I can think of is to try & fake laugh & say well, let’s see how it tastes – that’s the important thing. I don’t want to make my in-laws dislike me more even though I don’t put up vegetables and bake bread. It’s like a baking competition between the country women. I am making my husband a vanilla cake for his birthday next week. I plan on using Duncan Hines moist brand. However, I’ve used DH and BC before and it doesn’t taste like a bakery cake. So… I’ve heard adding vanilla pudding to the cake mix adds to the moist factor as well as using milk instead of water, butter instead of oil, and add an 8oz container of sour cream.
Has anyone used this or any of these and had success?
I’m open to any suggestions. Except changing the flavors, he will only eat vanilla or white cake
