Egg substitute in a yellow cake from scratch?
yellow cake from scratch
I want to make a yellow cake but I am out of eggs, and out of money. I have used mayo to replace eggs in cornbread before and they were great, but I’m not sure about a yellow cake. Any one tried this, or have any other ideas of things I can use?

Cake recipe that would work using hand whisk instead of electric mixer.?
recipe for white cake mix from scratch
The reason for NOT using the mixer is too long and complicated and boring to go into, OK?
I need a "from scratch" recipe (not our handydandy cake mixes). Just a plain white cake, real butter is OK, lots of eggs ok, white sugar OK. But I would like a recipe that makes a nice cake.
Thanks so much.
Thank you Wedge: I neglected to say this could be a "yellow cake" would the only difference be the addition of the whole egg as opposed to just the whites?
(I’m a good cook, but a lousy baker)
Yes, of course, CURIOUS, but one would need to know an approximate number of whisks, or minutes of whisking, or an idea of what the batter should look like. Some recipes are more atuned to less "beating" Thanks for your helpful input.

Baked a cake from scratch. It has a strong egg smell. Could it be bad?
baking cake from scratch
I just baked a cake from scratch for the first time. The recipe called for 7 eggs. The cake is now baked, but it has a strong egg smell, it’s not at all pleasant. Could it be bad? I really don’t feel like getting sick or making anyone else sick.
It was a recipe for tres leches cake. I thought 7 eggs was a bit excessive too.
The eggs were just purchased and didn’t smell when I cracked them and looked fresh.
The recipe called for 7 eggs to be separated. The whites were beaten with sugar and then the yolks were beaten into the mixture. Then flour, baking powder and milk was added.

What the other Betty Crocker Super Moist Cake recipe that comes on the back of the box for a more moist cake?
french vanilla cake recipe
I made a cake last week when I was in the States using Betty Crocker’s SuperMoist French Vanilla cake mix. Now, I bought the same SuperMoist French Vanilla cake mix in Canada, but apparently the packaging is slightly different because I can’t find a recipe that was on the back of the cake mix I bought in Florida.
The back of the box I bought in the States had the original ingredients for making the cake (add 2-3 eggs, oil, water), but then there was another recipe version on the box for a more moist cake. I remember specifically that it called for FOUR eggs, milk, butter, and oil, but I can’t remember the quantities of the other ingredients.
Does anyone happen to have any Betty Crocker Cake mix boxes who can tell me what exactly the other version for baking the cake mix was? Please? I really want to bake the same cake I made in Florida! : (
