is there a boxed sponge cake?
is there a way to make a boxed yellow cake more, i guess, stable?
i dont have time to bake a zillon layers of sponge cake and mix from scratch, a boxed yellow would be fine but they turn to shi-oops they crumb all up when you cut them.
i have looked everywhere online for tips, but they all say, PAGE EXPIRED, or INTERNET EXPLORER ERROR. so, thats really anoying and if you are a semihomeade kinda person and know how to save hours from my day, please HELP!

Can I make a layer cake the night before, then frost the next morning?

For my leadership class,we had to pick a goal,something to do that we’ve NEVER done before.At first I was going to get 90 or over in math,but that was a lie,because i get 90 in math all the time.
so i decided to make a double layer cake.i’ve never done it before.
i make cookies and cakes all the time,but from the store brought packets,not from scratch.
SOOOO now I have no idea what to do,so if anyone has an idea for a goal…can you please write it down?I would have stuck to the cake,but a lot of other people are baking things(souffles,cupcakes,etc) too,and I wanted to do something different.
if not,then can someone leave me a REALLY good recipe on a double layer cake?it would really help!thankssss! :)

How do you get bottom layer flat for layer cake?

I’m not a baker but, I’m making layer cake and need to know how to get bottom layer flat so I can frost without that big space between the layers. Any way to do it without cutting rounded top off?

Uh Oh! I frosted it and the frosting must have been too heavy. The top layer split right in two. Well, it’s just for my young son and I think he will eat it anyhow. Thanks to everyone for wonderful answers.

HIII!!!! My friend and i are having a cake baking contest. I am making a 3 layered cake:
Layer 1: Strawberry Red Velvet
(chocolate frosting in between)
Layer 2: Vanilla
(chocolate frosting in between)
Layer 3: Strawberry Red Velvet
I am going to frost in chocolate icing and decorate with fresh strawberries

So we need to make the cake and frosting from scratch:::

I dont want to throw any of the cake away. I have leveled the layer cake and now I have to 2 tops to the cakes and I want to use it, any ideas?

Once i was provided a double layered cake recipe. It was made from scratch, The top layer was custard and the bottom layer was cake. I use to put the cake tray in another tray filled with water and then the whole thing use to go in the oven and bake. 2 batters use to be prepared and then put on one another and then put in the oven. Can someone provide me that recipe again?

I’ve never made a layer cake before and I’m going to make a birthday cake with two layers today using a nine inch round pan. I think I’ve heard before that you can freeze the layers before frosting them so that the cake doesn’t get messed up, has anyone tried this before? Thanks.

Sorry, but what is vanilla paste? I know vanilla extract, but not paste

I am making a birthday cake from scratch and I have decided to bake a layered cake

Now I need some help with the recipe. I have not found an exact Birthday Cake Recipe but I was wondering, if I were to make a layered cake, should I make the cake mixture (a) a sponge cake (b) a pound cake or (c) an angel cake. Which kind of these cake mixtures (or any other cake mixtures that I did not mention) would be best for making a layered cake? What would hold together the layers the best and make the cake that more delicious? If you know of any good recipes for the cake mixture that you have in mind to be the best, it would be very nice if you could share them with me. Any experiences with the cake mixtures, recipes, layered cake baking, etc. that might help me in baking my cake is appreciated too.
